# Embed the chat inline or share a direct link

> Show your intoCHAT agent inside a page with an iframe instead of a floating bubble, or share its direct chat link by email, on social media or as a QR code.

Besides the floating launcher, every agent can be shown inside a page with an iframe, or opened on a page of its own through a direct link. Both are on the **Share** tab with your agent ID filled in.

## Inline iframe

On the **Iframe Embed** card, click **Copy Code**. The card also shows a preview.

```html
<iframe
  src="https://www.intochat.ai/agent/YOUR_AGENT_ID"
  width="100%"
  height="600px"
  frameborder="0"
></iframe>
```

Paste it where the chat should appear, such as a help or contact page. The chat appears exactly where you place the iframe.

How the inline chat behaves:

- The chat is always open. There is no launcher and no tooltip.
- It fills the iframe. Adjust `width` and `height` to your layout; the header takes 60 pixels and the message box sits at the bottom.
- Your [Appearance](/en/docs/appearance) settings apply: theme, font, corners, header and message colors, avatar, welcome messages, suggested questions, footer text and the "Powered by intoCHAT" credit. The launcher bubble color still colors the send button. The welcome pop-up and auto-open don't apply.
- The header has no close button. Only the chat window that opens from the script tag's launcher has one.

> Client-side actions need the script tag, because their handlers run on your page through `embed.js`. In an inline iframe, the agent waits for your page to answer and the action fails after 20 seconds. Use the [script tag](/en/docs/script-tag) if your agent uses [client-side actions](/en/docs/client-actions).

## Direct link

On the **Direct Chat URL** card, click **Copy URL**, or **Open Chat** to open it in a new tab.

```text
https://www.intochat.ai/agent/YOUR_AGENT_ID
```

The link opens a full page with the chat and your Appearance settings. Like the inline iframe, it has no close button. Common uses:

- Share it by email, in social media posts or in a newsletter.
- Turn it into a QR code for print or a shop counter.
- Put it behind a "Chat with us" button on a site where you can't add scripts.
- Test the agent in a standalone window before installing it.
- Open it in a mobile app's web view.

## Which one to use

| | Script tag | Inline iframe | Direct link |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shown as | Launcher on every page | A box inside one page | A page of its own |
| Needs access to your site | Yes | Yes | No |
| Launcher, tooltip, position | Yes | No | No |
| Welcome pop-up and auto-open | Yes | No | No |
| Close button | Yes | No | No |
| Client-side actions | Yes | No | No |
| Records the page the chat started on | Yes | No | No |

All three use the same agent and knowledge. Conversations appear under **Conversations**, leads under **Leads**, and messages count toward your plan in the same way.

## Things to know

- The link always uses the intochat.ai address.
- Anyone with the link can chat with the agent. By default any website can embed the iframe; to limit it to your own sites, set [allowed domains](/en/docs/allowed-domains). The link keeps working when you do. If you make the agent private, neither the link nor any embed works.
- Only train a public agent on content you are happy to make public.
- Changes on the **Appearance** tab apply the next time the page or iframe loads. No new embed code is needed.

To install the floating launcher instead, see [Install with a script tag](/en/docs/script-tag).
