# Quick start: from sign-up to a live chat widget

> Create an intoCHAT account, build your first AI agent from a template, train it on your website, test it and add the chat widget to your site in five steps.

This guide takes you from a new account to a chat bubble on your website. You need your website's address and access to its HTML, or to its WordPress or Shopify admin.

The Free plan includes 1 agent, 25 messages a month, 100K characters of training content and 1 website crawl a month, enough to try the whole flow. See [pricing](/en/pricing) for the paid plans.

## 1. Create your account

[Sign up](/en/auth/register) with your email address and a password, or with Google. If you signed up with email, sign in afterwards. You start on the **Dashboard**.

## 2. Create an agent

1. Click **New agent** in the sidebar.
2. Pick a starting point, such as **Customer Support Agent** or **Sales Agent**. The template fills in the agent's instructions, and you can edit every word later. Choose **Start from scratch** to write your own instructions (at least 100 characters).
3. Keep or change the suggested **Agent name**. It also appears in the header of the chat window, so choose a name visitors understand.
4. Click **Create agent**.

The new agent opens on its **Knowledge** tab.

## 3. Add knowledge and train

1. Under **Add knowledge**, open **Website** and enter your address, for example `https://example.com`.
2. Click **Find pages** and review the list. Untick pages that don't help visitors, such as legal notices or old news.
3. Click **Add … selected pages** and wait until the pages show **added**.
4. Optionally add files, text snippets or Q&A pairs in the other tabs.
5. Click **Train agent** at the top of the tab. Wait until the status reads that all sources are trained.

Adding pages uses one of your monthly crawls, so on the Free plan choose your pages carefully. Sources are saved as soon as you add them, but the agent only uses them after training. More in [Website crawl](/en/docs/website-crawl), [Files](/en/docs/files) and [Text and Q&A](/en/docs/text-and-qa).

## 4. Test and adjust

1. Click **Save changes** in the header if you edited anything. Your website only uses saved settings, while the Playground already answers with the instructions on screen, saved or not.
2. Open **Playground** and ask the questions your visitors ask most often. Check that the answers are correct, and that the agent admits it when your content doesn't cover something.
3. If an answer is wrong or vague, add a Q&A pair with the right answer on the **Knowledge** tab and train again.
4. On **Appearance**, set the welcome message, suggested questions and colors, then save.

> Playground messages count toward your monthly messages, just like visitor messages.

## 5. Add the widget to your site

1. Open **Share** and click **Copy Code** in the **Bubble Chat** card. The code already contains your agent ID:

   ```html
   <script src="https://www.intochat.ai/api/embed.js" data-chatbot-id="YOUR_AGENT_ID"></script>
   ```

2. Paste it just before the closing `</body>` tag, ideally in a footer or layout file that every page uses.
3. Reload your site. The chat bubble appears in the bottom corner, with the colors and position from **Appearance**.

> The end of the body is the recommended place, but the script also works in the `<head>`: it builds the chat bubble once the page has loaded. If the snippet ends up on a page twice, only one bubble appears.

On WordPress you can use the official plugin instead, and on Shopify you paste the code into your theme. See [Script tag](/en/docs/script-tag), [WordPress](/en/docs/wordpress) and [Shopify](/en/docs/shopify).

## Duplicate an agent

To start a second agent from one you have already built, for example for another language or website, go to **Agents** in the sidebar, open the three-dot menu on the agent and choose **Duplicate**. The copy opens right away, named after the original with "(copy)" at the end.

- **Copied:** all settings, including instructions, guardrails, appearance, lead collection and allowed domains, plus the knowledge sources and actions.
- **Not copied:** conversations and leads.
- The knowledge comes over already trained, so the copy answers like the original from its first message. Duplicating doesn't retrain anything or use a website crawl. Sources that weren't trained yet stay pending in the copy.
- The copy has its own agent ID, so it needs its own embed code from **Share**.

The copy counts as one of your plan's agents. Duplicating is refused when you have reached your plan's agent limit, or when the agent's knowledge is over your plan's characters per agent. See [Plans and limits](/en/docs/plans-and-limits).
