More ways to customize the chat widget
The chat widget can now carry your own avatar and launcher icon, sit on either side of the page and use your own wording. Visitors also keep their conversation as they move between pages.
- NewUpload an avatar for the chatbot and your own icon for the chat launcher.
- NewPlace the chat bubble in the bottom-left or bottom-right corner of the page.
- NewWrite the tooltip text shown next to the launcher and the placeholder in the message box.
- ImprovedReplies show lists, bold text and links with cleaner formatting.
- NewVisitors pick up their conversation when they open another page, and a reset button starts a fresh chat.
Colors were only the start. The widget settings now also cover the chatbot's avatar, the icon on the launcher button and the corner of the page the bubble sits in, which helps when a cookie notice or another button already occupies one side.
You can change the words around the chat as well. The tooltip next to the launcher invites visitors to start a conversation, and the placeholder in the message box can hint at what to ask. Leave them empty and intoCHAT uses a default.
Conversations now carry over too. When a visitor moves to another page or comes back later, the chat shows their earlier messages instead of starting again, and the reset button gives them a clean start whenever they want one.
