Use case: lead generation

A lead generation chatbot that helps first and asks second

Visitors share contact details more readily right after a useful answer. intoCHAT answers from your content, asks for an email address or phone number at the moment you define, and sends every new lead to your inbox.

Example: a web design agency

Visitor: Do you build online shops, or only company websites?

Agent: Both. We build company websites and online shops on Shopify and WooCommerce. Shop projects start with a two-week planning phase, and our services page lists what is included.

Visitor: We want to move our shop from Wix to Shopify before Christmas. Is that realistic?

Agent: That depends on the size of the shop and the start date, so our project team would need to look at it. If you leave your email or phone number, they will get back to you with a realistic timeline.

Visitor: Sure: lena@example.com

Agent: Thank you, Lena. The project team has your request and your questions about the move. Is there anything else I can answer now?

Contact forms collect few leads and little context

A contact form asks visitors to describe their need in an empty box, and many never start. Those who do send a short message without background, so your first call starts from zero. A conversation gives visitors answers first, and gives you the context of what they asked.

Why use a chatbot for lead generation

Every lead arrives with the conversation that produced it.

  • Answers before it asks

The agent answers questions about your services, prices and process from your own content, so the request for contact details comes after it has been useful.

  • Asks the right visitors

Describe what a good lead looks like for your business and let the agent judge, or set rules such as keywords and a number of messages.

  • Leads with context

Each lead links to its full transcript, and the alert email includes the visitor's latest messages, so you know what they need before you call.

  • Leads around the clock

Visitors who arrive in the evening or at the weekend can leave their details and hear back when you are open.

  • No duplicate alerts

Returning visitors are recognized, so a second submission from the same person does not send a second alert.

How to set up lead generation

  1. Train the agent on your offer

Add your service pages, prices, process and FAQs. The agent needs good answers before a request for contact details makes sense.

  2. Describe a good lead

Choose the AI or hybrid trigger and write a short guide, for example: ask when the visitor mentions a project, a date or a budget, not for general questions.

  3. Add rules as a safety net

Add keywords such as quote, offer or call back, and a threshold of around four messages, so interested visitors are asked even when the AI holds back.

  4. Route and follow up

Send alerts to the people who follow up, choose what the visitor sees after submitting, and export leads as CSV for your CRM.

Frequently asked questions

How does a lead generation chatbot work?

It answers visitors' questions from your content and, when your trigger fires, shows a short form asking for an email address or phone number. Contact details typed directly into the chat are captured too. You get an email for each new lead and can read the full conversation behind it.

When should the chatbot ask for contact details?

Usually after it has answered something specific, such as a price, a timeline or whether you can handle the visitor's project. Describe that moment for the AI trigger, and add keywords such as quote or call back as a backup. Asking on the very first message feels much like a pop-up.

Can it qualify leads with custom questions?

The form itself collects only email and phone, with no custom fields. You can tell the agent in its instructions to ask about budget, timing or project size during the conversation, and those answers appear in the transcript linked to the lead.

Can the chatbot book a call directly?

There is no built-in calendar or booking. The agent can link to your booking page in its answers, and the lead form collects contact details so your team can follow up.

Does it send leads to my CRM?

There is no direct CRM integration and no webhooks. Export your leads as CSV and import them into your CRM or mailing tool, and use the email alerts for quick follow-up.

Can a salesperson join the chat?

No, intoCHAT has no live chat or human handoff. Your team follows up by email or phone, using the contact details and the conversation history.
