For restaurants, cafés and bars
An AI chatbot for restaurants that knows your menu
intoCHAT answers guests from your own website and menu: opening hours, dishes, allergens, parking and group events. For a table, it points guests to your reservation page.
Visitor: Do you have anything vegan on the menu?
Agent: Yes. Our menu has three vegan dishes: the roasted beetroot starter, the mushroom risotto made with olive oil instead of butter, and the sorbet of the day for dessert.
Visitor: My daughter has a nut allergy. Is the risotto safe for her?
Agent: Our allergen list shows no nuts in the mushroom risotto. Our kitchen also works with nuts, so please tell your server about the allergy when you arrive and the kitchen can take extra care.
Visitor: Great. Can I book a table for four on Friday at 7?
Agent: I can't make reservations here, but you can book a table on our reservations page or call us on 020 7946 0123. For groups of more than eight, leave your email and our events team will get back to you.
The phone rings during service
Do you have vegan options? Are you open on Monday? Is there parking? Guests call with questions your website already answers, often right when the kitchen is busiest. A chatbot on your site handles these questions, so your team can stay with the guests in the room.
Why restaurants add a chatbot
Menu questions answered
Upload your menu as a PDF and the agent explains dishes, ingredients and prices. When the menu changes, replace the file and retrain it.
Allergen answers from your own information
The agent answers allergen questions only from the allergen information you publish, and asks guests with severe allergies to speak to your staff.
Group and event enquiries as leads
For birthdays, company dinners or private events, the lead form collects the guest's email or phone number and you get an email alert.
Guests find your reservation page
The agent cannot book tables itself. It sends guests to your reservation page or phone number, so bookings stay in the system you already use.
Replies in the guest's language
Visitors from abroad can ask in their own language and get an answer from your content in the same language.
How to set it up
Crawl your website
Paste your restaurant's URL so the agent reads your opening hours, location, parking and event pages.
Upload your menu and allergen list
Add your menu, drinks list and allergen information as PDF, Word or text files. Star the allergen list so it ranks higher.
Write clear instructions
Start from a template and add rules such as: never confirm a table, always link to the reservation page, and refer severe allergies to staff.
Go live
Add one script tag to your site, or use the WordPress plugin. Test common questions in the playground first.

Frequently asked questions
Can the chatbot take table reservations?
No. intoCHAT does not book tables or connect to reservation calendars. The agent sends guests to your own reservation page or phone number. If your reservation system offers an HTTP API, you can connect it through a custom API action.
Is it safe to let a chatbot answer allergen questions?
The agent answers only from the allergen information you provide, and says when it doesn't know. Add instructions so it always asks guests with severe allergies to speak to your staff. Keep your allergen list up to date and retrain it after every menu change.
How do I keep the menu up to date?
Replace the menu file or edit the source, then retrain it. Retraining is manual, so do it whenever dishes or prices change.
Can guests order food or delivery through the chat?
No. intoCHAT does not take orders or payments. The agent can explain your menu and point guests to the ordering or delivery page you already use.
Can it help with private events and large groups?
Yes. The agent answers from your events page, and the lead form collects the guest's email or phone number. You and up to five more addresses get an email alert for each new lead.
Does it answer in other languages?
Yes. The agent detects the language the guest writes in and replies in that language, using your content. Your menu and website can stay in one language.
