How intoCHAT works with Magento

Magento 2.3 and later answer product searches through a GraphQL API at /graphql, which is on by default and serves public catalog data. Connect your website, on the Actions tab, uses that API so the agent can look up products while it chats. The chat bubble itself is one script tag in the store's footer settings. The agent reads public product data only: no orders, carts, checkout or customer accounts.

Set up intoCHAT on Magento

  1. Create and train your agent

Sign up, create an agent and add your store's address on the Knowledge tab so it learns your shipping, returns and help pages. You can also upload files or add Q&A pairs.

  2. Connect your store

On the Actions tab, choose Connect your website and paste your store address. intoCHAT checks /graphql and adds a Search products and a Get product details action. Make sure no firewall or security module blocks /graphql.

  3. Copy the script tag

Open the Share tab and copy the code under Bubble Chat. It already contains your agent ID.

  4. Add it to the footer in the Magento admin

Go to Content > Design > Configuration and click Edit for your store view. Under Other Settings, expand Footer, paste the script into Miscellaneous HTML and click Save Configuration.

  5. Refresh caches and check

If the bubble doesn't appear, refresh the invalidated caches under System > Tools > Cache Management, then reload a storefront page.

The code for Miscellaneous HTML

<script src="https://www.intochat.ai/api/embed.js" data-chatbot-id="YOUR_AGENT_ID"></script>

Use Footer > Miscellaneous HTML, not HTML Head > Scripts and Style Sheets. The script adds the chat bubble to the page body as soon as it runs, so it has to load inside the body.

What the agent does in your Magento store

  • Searches your catalog live

Each search returns up to five products with name, SKU, final and regular price, stock status and image, read from your store's GraphQL API when the visitor asks.

  • Knows options and variants

For configurable products, a second action fetches the description, options such as size or color, and the stock of each variant.

  • Shows product cards

Answers include cards with the product image, price and a link to the product page.

  • Answers beyond the catalog

Train it on your shipping, returns and FAQ pages or files. Q&A pairs take priority over other sources.

  • Collects leads

A form in the chat asks for an email address or phone number on rules you set, and every new lead triggers an email alert.

  • Replies in the shopper's language

The agent answers in the language the visitor writes in, using the same catalog and pages.

Frequently asked questions

Which Magento versions work with live product search?

Magento 2.3 and later, including Adobe Commerce, through the GraphQL API at /graphql, which is on by default. No integration token is needed. If GraphQL doesn't answer, intoCHAT tries the store's own search page instead, which must work without logging in.

What can the agent see in my store?

Only public catalog data, the same your storefront shows: names, SKUs, prices, stock status, images, descriptions and product options. It can't see orders, carts, checkout or customer accounts, and it can't change anything in your store.

Can the agent track orders?

No. Order lookups need private store credentials and proof that the visitor owns the order, which a public connection can't provide. The agent can answer delivery and returns questions from your pages and collect an email address or phone number so your team can follow up.

Does the chat show on checkout pages?

Adobe notes that JavaScript in the Miscellaneous HTML field must be whitelisted in the Content Security Policy settings, otherwise it won't run on checkout pages. If you want the chat there too, ask your developer to allow www.intochat.ai for scripts, connections and frames in your CSP whitelist.

Can each store view have its own agent?

Yes. Design configuration is set per store view, so you can paste a script with a different agent ID into each store view's Miscellaneous HTML. Connect each store's address on the Actions tab of its own agent.

Does the chat slow down my store?

The script is a single file that loads just before the closing body tag, after your content. The chat window runs in its own iframe served by intoCHAT, so its code stays separate from Magento's.
