Connect your store for live product search
Paste your shop address and intoCHAT adds live product search for Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, VTEX, WordPress or other sites. Public data only, no API keys.
Connect your website lets your agent search your shop's public catalog while it chats and show matching products as cards. It reads the same public data your storefront already shows, so you don't need an API key or an app install.
Connect your site
- Open your agent, go to the Actions tab and click Connect your website.
- Paste the address shoppers visit, for example
yourstore.com, and click Connect. intoCHAT works out which platform the site runs on. Custom-built shops can take up to a minute. - If the platform is detected wrongly, or you want its setup steps, click Choose the platform myself.
- The result shows Products we found and Actions added. Click Done, then ask the Playground something like "Do you have … in stock?"
Platforms and requirements
| Platform | What the agent reads | What has to be true |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify | Product search and product details | The store is public. With password protection on (Online Store, Preferences), products can't be read. The .myshopify.com address works too. |
| WooCommerce | Product search and product details | WooCommerce is active, and no security plugin (such as Wordfence) blocks /wp-json/. If WordPress is in a folder, include it, such as yourstore.com/shop. |
| Magento 2.3+ and Adobe Commerce | Product search and product details | The GraphQL API at /graphql is not blocked by a firewall or security module. |
| VTEX | Product search | Uses VTEX's public Intelligent Search, the same search your storefront uses. |
| WordPress without a shop | Published posts and pages | No security plugin blocks /wp-json/. |
| Other website (BigCommerce, PrestaShop, Shopware, custom shops) | The site's own search page or product listings, and product pages | Search works without logging in. |
On other websites, search results that only appear after JavaScript runs, which is common on Wix and Squarespace, can't be read live. Add those sites under Knowledge instead; see Website crawl.
What gets created
The connection adds ordinary actions that you can open, test, edit or switch off like any other:
- Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento: Search products and Get product details.
- VTEX: Search products.
- WordPress: Search articles and Search pages, plus a search for public custom content types the site publishes, such as properties.
- Other websites: Search the site and Read a page, or Browse products or List products when the site has no search.
These actions count toward the limit of 25 actions per agent. If another website is already connected, the new actions get the site's name in parentheses. If an action with the same name already exists, it is left unchanged; delete it and connect again to point it at this store. Connecting the same site again updates its actions.
Product cards
When the agent names or links products from a search, they appear under its reply as cards with image, price, sale price, stock status and a link to the product page, up to 10 per reply. The cards are built from what your store returned, not from the agent's text, so a card can't show a product or price your shop didn't send. Posts and pages from a WordPress blog don't get cards.
What isn't included
Only public catalog data is read. The connection has no access to orders, carts, checkout or customer accounts. Order tracking isn't included, because it needs private store keys and a way to check that the visitor owns the order. Questions about shipping, returns or payment are answered from your trained knowledge, so keep those pages in the agent's Knowledge.
