Show prospects your agent on their own website

Create a private link that shows your real intoCHAT agent over a screenshot of a prospect's website: crawl use, expiry, view counts and limits.

A preview link opens a page that shows a screenshot of a website you choose, with your agent's real chat bubble on top. Send it to a prospect in a sales email or a pitch, so they can try the agent on their own site before anything is installed.

  1. Open your agent and go to the Share tab. The Preview links card is at the bottom.
  2. In Prospect's website, enter the address of the page to show, such as prospect.com. If you leave out https://, it is added for you. The address must be a public website.
  3. Optionally, enter a Label (optional) of up to 80 characters, such as "Acme, follow-up call". Only you see it, in the list of links.
  4. Under Expires after, choose 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or Never. 30 days is the default.
  5. Click Create link.

The link works right away, at an address like https://www.intochat.ai/p/…. The screenshot follows a few seconds later, and the list shows "Taking the screenshot…" in the meantime. If the site can't be captured, the page shows a plain background with the site's name instead, and the list says so.

What the prospect sees

  • The screenshot: the part of the page visible in a desktop window of 1440 × 900 pixels, taken once when you create the link. It is an image, so its links and buttons don't work.
  • A small notice at the top, "Preview of" followed by your agent name, the site, and "made with intoCHAT". The visitor can dismiss it.
  • Your agent's chat bubble, loaded by the same script as on a live website, with your Appearance settings.

The chat is real. It answers from this agent's knowledge, with its instructions and actions. Its conversations appear on the Conversations tab, leads on the Leads tab, and its messages count toward your plan like messages on your own site.

The page works even if you set allowed domains, because it is on intoCHAT's own domain.

Who can open it

  • Anyone who has the link. Each link contains a random code of 24 characters, which can't be guessed.
  • Search engines are asked not to index the page.
  • Nobody while the agent is private. You can't create links for a private agent, and existing links show a "not available" page until you switch Private agent off.
  • Nobody after the link expires or is deleted. The page then shows "not available".

Views

Each link in the list shows how many views it has. A visitor counts once per link every 6 hours, judged by IP address, however often they reload the page. Bots, and the link previews that chat apps and social sites fetch when someone pastes the link, are not counted. Sending the link to a prospect therefore doesn't add a view.

The list shows each link's label, or the site when there is no label, with the creation date, the number of views and when it expires.

  • Copy copies the link. The button next to it opens the preview in a new tab.
  • The trash button deletes the link after you confirm. Anyone who opens it afterwards sees a "not available" page, and the stored screenshot is deleted.
  • An expired link shows Expired and no longer opens. It stays in the list until you delete it.

Limits

  • Up to 20 open links per agent. Expired links don't count. When you reach 20, delete a link to add another.
  • 1 website crawl per new link.
  • Up to 10 new links per minute.
  • Preview links aren't copied when you duplicate an agent.
