Publish a Help Page for your agent
Give your intoCHAT agent a public page of its own with a title, a description, up to 6 links and the chat, and link to it or show it on your own domain.
The Help Page is a public page of its own for your agent, at https://www.intochat.ai/help/YOUR_AGENT_ID. It shows your title and a short description, up to 6 links, and the chat as the main content. Use it as a simple help or support page that you don't have to build yourself.
Publish the page
- Open your agent and go to the Share tab. The Help Page card is below the embed cards.
- Switch on Publish the Help Page.
- Fill in the fields. All of them are optional:
- Title: up to 80 characters. Leave it empty to use the agent's name.
- Description: up to 300 characters, shown under the title. Search engines also show it as the page's description.
- Links: click Add link for each button you want above the chat, such as your FAQ, contact page or order tracking. Up to 6 links, each with a label of up to 40 characters and a full address starting with
https://orhttp://. They open in a new tab.
- Click Save.
Under Page address, the card then shows the address with Copy URL and Open. Until the page is switched on and saved, the address shows a "page not found" page. Switching the page off and saving does the same.
What visitors see
- A header in your Header color from the Appearance tab, with the agent avatar, or the title's first letter when there is none, the title and the description.
- Your links as buttons.
- The chat under the heading "Chat with us". It shows your welcome messages and suggested questions and works like the direct link.
The page uses the agent's theme, font and corners. Its language follows Widget language on the Appearance tab: a fixed language is used as set, and with Automatic the page and the chat follow the visitor's browser languages, with English as the fallback. Your title, description and link labels are shown as you wrote them.
Chats on the Help Page are normal conversations. They appear on the Conversations tab, leads on the Leads tab, and messages count toward your plan. A visitor who comes back in the same browser continues their conversation.
Visitors from a blocked country see the page with a note that the chat isn't available in their region, instead of the chat.
Who can open it
- Anyone with the address, once the page is published.
- Nobody while the agent is private. With Private agent on, the page stays off whatever the switch says, and the address shows "page not found".
- Allowed domains don't hide the page. Like the direct link, it lives on intoCHAT's own domain. They do decide which websites can show it in a frame; see the next section.
Use your own domain
The Help Page always lives at its intoCHAT address. Pointing your own domain or a CNAME record at intoCHAT isn't supported. The card's Use your own domain section offers two ways to make the page part of your site.
Link to it from your navigation
Add a "Help" or "Support" item to your menu or footer that points to the page. Copy link code copies this code with your agent ID filled in:
<a href="https://www.intochat.ai/help/YOUR_AGENT_ID">Help</a>
Visitors land on the intoCHAT address, with your branding.
Show it on a page of your own domain
Create a page on your site, such as yoursite.com/help, and paste the code from Copy embed code:
<iframe src="https://www.intochat.ai/help/YOUR_AGENT_ID" title="Help" style="width:100%;height:100vh;border:0"></iframe>
The address bar shows your domain. The page inside the frame is still served by intoCHAT.
Search engines
A published Help Page can be indexed by search engines at its intoCHAT address. Its title in search results is your title followed by "Help" in the page's language, and its description is your Description.
Search engines don't count the framed page as content of your own page. If yoursite.com/help should rank for your domain, write your own text on that page around the frame.
Things to know
- Changes apply after you click Save and reload the Help Page. No new code is needed for the link or the frame.
- A duplicated agent keeps the Help Page settings but starts with the page switched off; once on, it has its own address with its own agent ID.
- Only train a public agent on content you are happy to make public.
To show the chat on your own pages instead, see Install with a script tag or Iframe and direct link.
